Dab Hand says: The original form of doorstep recycling, Rag & Bone men collected rags, shoes, car parts, furniture and almost anything that was being thrown out. By the time the popular BBC series Steptoe & Son was screened in 1965, there were far fewer operating. This set of four jigsaws shows a day’s round by horse and cart and includes “The Goldfish” (which were often given to children as a treat), “The Old Mill”, “The Journey” and “The Yard”. The artist is Trevor Mitchell.
