Dab Hand says: This colourful jigsaw depicts vintage cracker labels. Some have traditional Christmas scenes and others will prove a rich source of inspiration for party games at other times of the year. Crackers were invented in 1847, originally with a sugar coated almond wrapped in a twist of tissue paper and including a ‘love motto’. In 1850 the almonds were replaced by trinkets. By 1860, the cracker became more or less what it is today, complete with the “crack” that starts many a celebration dinner! This montage was created by Beryl Peters.
