Dab Hand says: Customers of the Admiral Benbow pub have a perfect view of the lighthouse and harbour in this colourful jigsaw by artist Dominic Davison. An inn of this name is featured in ‘Treasure Island’ by Robert Louis Stevenson. Admiral John Benbow (1653-1702) found fame as well as notoriety in naval battles and campaigns against pirates. There is an Admiral Benbow Inn in Penzance, Cornwall, which may have inspired Stevenson to use the same name in his story.
