Dab Hand says: This terrific, if slightly macabre image, is by Victorian artist Mark W Langlois who was active during the 1860s and 1870s. Villagers young and old plus a dog and donkey have gathered for a Punch and Judy show with Punch performing a mock execution to the obvious delight of all in attendance. The puppeteer hidden inside the booth is called a “professor” or “punchman”. The jigsaw puzzle is in very good condition and 100% complete. The box is in good condition with some minor wear and tear and tape marks. Overall, this is a good example of this rare jigsaw from Gibsons’ Heritage range.
