Dab Hand says: This picturesque image shows a steam train speeding across a viaduct above a barge being pulled in the opposite direction on the aqueduct below. The ‘Gifford’ is a horse drawn narrowboat whose original purpose was to carry bulk liquids such as tar, creosote and crude oil on the English canals. It can now be seen in all its glory at the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port. The extra large pieces in this puzzle mean that it is ideal for those with sight or handling difficulties, or anyone who prefers easier jigsaws. When complete it is the same size as a standard 500 piece puzzle. The image is by popular jigsaw artist Trevor Mitchell.
