Dab Hand says:
This charming vintage puzzle is No 26 in “The Good Companion” series published by Tower Press. It shows a farmer coming home on horseback on a warm sunny afternoon. His young daughter is delighted to have hitched a lift and no doubt the farmer’s wife has tea and cakes ready. Tower Press was founded in the 1930s by Hans Ehrlich, a refugee from Germany, and his partner Bernard Saalheimer. They greatly developed the range, quality and availability of cardboard puzzles in the UK, making a significant contribution to the industry. The company ceased trading in 1979 and was purchased by Waddingtons. This rare puzzle is worn with age but is 100% complete – the full jigsaw count is 408 pieces. The box is in acceptable condition with some significant wear and marks but still useable (more photos available on request).
